The climax of the IVRA Clubsport season brought the 49-strong field to the iconic Interlagos circuit for a thrilling 700km showdown in Brazil. Going into the final round, the #56 car found itself in third place in the championship standings, trailing the leaders by 50 points. While the title seemed like a long shot with only 130 points up for grabs, the team remained determined to give it their all.
Once again the #56 was driven by Jason Dilworth and Lochlan Bearman, supported by Race Engineer Tom Stanley.
Despite showing promising pace in practice sessions, Jason was disappointed with his qualifying performance, starting the race in 10th position.
However, the team quickly made up ground with aggressive racing, propelling the #56 car up to fifth place early on. A timely first pit stop, prompted by minor damage incurred during a safety car period, saw them reemerge in fourth position. Jason then delivered some of his strongest stints of the season before handing over to Lochlan to continue the charge.
Maintaining position and managing the car's performance was key for Lochlan as he battled competitors and navigated through various safety car periods. Despite a minor penalty and some fierce defense from rivals, the team's strategy paid off. Through skillful maneuvering in traffic and a well-executed pit stop, they secured second place with a comfortable gap to the chasing pack.
This impressive result marked the team's second-best finish of the season, surpassed only by their unexpected victory in the opening round. As they await the final championship standings, the team reflects on a season of hard work and dedication. Regardless of the final outcome, they are proud of their performance and grateful for the support of their team members, sponsors, and the IVRA organization.
