Report: IVRA Endurance Round 4 - Monza

19th February 2023

Our #256 car headed out for round four of the IVRA Endurance championship yesterday at Monza. As has been tradition so far this year for us, line-up issues at the last minute meant a late change and the resulting driver line-up of Ryan Hamilton, Tim Penny and Chris Chadderton were perhaps not quite as prepared as we'd have liked.

That said, this season is all about individual races for the team so we went into qualifying aiming to do as well as we could and then grab whatever opportunities came our way through the race. Tim did a good job to put the car in 8th position in the GT3 class, although an iRacing bug at race start had us start from the pits. That may have been a blessing with the first corner shenanigans that happened, allowing Tim to settle into the first stints.

Through the early part of the race the car managed to move forwards consistently, making it right up to P2 before contact with a GT3 Pro car put us do to around P6. That was to be the way for the rest of race as it turned out as, despite strong stints from both Chris and Ryan, extra contact at a safety car restart dropped us further to P8 and out of contention for any real recovery given the strength of the field.

As always, the event was a pleasure to be involved in, and we look forward to the next round at Motegi on the 18th March.
